We are happy to introduce the newest member of Calf Magazine, Busisiwe Nkhwashu-Leburu who is an entrepreneur wizard and has a particular passion for township economy. She will be our resident columnist, giving insights on the entrepreneurship journey.

We posed a few questions so we can get to know her better.

1. Who is Busisiwe?

Busisiwe is a passionate, dynamic young woman who believes in the pursuit of her goals. A dreamer, a self-starter, a trailblazer!

2. What is your line of work and how did you get into it?

I am a Business Development Manager for an Operational Company specialising in Facilities Management & Security Services. Although I am a qualified Property Manager, I have always had a passion for marketing & sales which also speaks to my drive as an Entrepreneur.

3. What motivated you to be an entrepreneur, and how has the journey been from the beginning until now?

My journey of entrepreneurship started in 2008 when I was in varsity. I was groomed by my husband & he taught me everything about business; the good, the bad & the ugly.

4. What are you passionate about especially when it comes to entrepreneurship?

I am passionate about developing "township economies" & unearthing new opportunities in uncharted territories, true to my trailblazing nature.

5. What is your take about women in business?

Women in business are often faced with a series of challenges as we often have to find a balancing act in our many roles. However, with the right support systems, there is a great potential to thrive as women are natural nurturers & don't easily give up.
